Sloe Rivera, better known as Slo, is a tattoo artist in Escondido, California, specializing in black and gray realism, portrait tattoos, and custom lettering. Eight years out of his apprenticeship, he is focused on creating strong, readable designs and smooth, high contrast realism that holds up over time. He especially enjoys large scale black and gray projects, from full concept pieces to detailed portraits and big lettering that makes a statement.

Slo has worked at The Ink Spot Tattoo, Red Buddha Tattoo, and Gold Rose Tattoo, building a style rooted in consistency, clean execution, and custom design. Most of his work is fully custom, and he likes collaborating closely with clients to make sure every tattoo fits the body, flows naturally, and matches the story behind it. Whether you are coming in with a clear reference or only a rough idea, he will help shape the concept into a finished piece you will be proud to wear.

Outside of tattooing, Slo stays grounded in the things that raised him, his family, his friends, and his hometown influence. He also loves working on cars, especially old Hondas, and he spends time creating art through drawing and painting. That creative routine keeps his ideas fresh and his work evolving.

I had an awesome time here with Katelyn. She was so professional, her line work was so clean her colors were so good the color blending was good. It was a longer tattoo and she kept the same level of detail the whole way through. The face is usually a funky part in most tattoos but she made it look so gorgeous I'm so happy with it and I'm definitely going to come back again. And a special shout out to their apprentice zian who recommended me to her when I walked in and didn't know who to pick. He made a great choice 10/10 the whole way through
